China Unicom to Formulate Dual-mode, Dual-standby Mobile Standards

China's Xinhua News recently reported that the International Telecommunication Union has entrusted China Unicom with the task of formulating standards for dual-mode and dual-standby mobile phones. This relegation marks the first time ever for a Chinese company to devise definitive mobile phone standards.
